“Suicide” is a word that stresses me out. I’ve lost too many people to that word. So, naturally this album title and the band title stress me out little bits. Granted, I know the 1970s were a different time [insert all those fun things about how times were different and people didn’t care as much or people didn’t have access to mental health care...you know]
This album is meh as far as punk goes. I like punk. I love late 70s and early 80s teen rebellion and anger against capitalism as much as the next guy. But this album, even though it is only 7 songs long, feels too long. Woof, I know. Harsh, Nicolle, wow.
The shining moment in this album is the song “Cheree.” It is nice but it feels strictly transitional.
I would love to meet someone with a different opinion, so if you are out there tell me why you like this album. What it brings you bc I don’t feel like my day has been improved or harmed by this. It is just meh.
To quote Eden Wen during a recent run of her tabletop role-playing game called Roses and Reasons (a play on the Bachelor franchise), “thank you, but no thank you.”
